California Tops 100K Electric Vehicles Sold

The California Plug-in Electric Vehicle Collaborative has just announced that over 100,000 electric vehicles have been sold in the Golden State since the introduction of the first major electric vehicle (EV) models (Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt) in late 2010. In the last 12 months alone the state added about 50,000 EVs, and the sales of EVs continues to increase. The most current stats show that EVs now make up about 3% of new car sales in the state and when combined with gasoline-only hybrids, almost 1 in 10 new cars sold in California have some type of electric drive. I saw X-Men: Days of Future Past over the long weekend, and man, it did not disappoint. The movie began with a depiction of a bleak, dark future destined to be humanity’s fate unless – of course – Professor X, Wolverine, Beast, and the rest of the X-Men (and women) step in to save us. Buying an Electric Vehicle? Salespeople May Not Have the Whole Scoop

It turns out that some dealerships were not entirely helpful when it came to discussing EVs and in some instances actually steered customers away from EVs and toward gas-powered conventional vehicles.
