The Obama administration’s National Space Policy (NSP) is expected to be released soon. It will replace the Bush NSP of 2006.

Based on the administration’s public statements, we expect the new policy to signal a return to a more international approach to space; to a more balanced view of civil, commercial and military uses of space; and to a greater openness to arms control and cooperation.
