The video above was captured from the 22 June 2012 broadcast of LinkAsia News. The five-minute segment includes an update on the activities of the Shenzhou 9 crew and a short interview with yours truly on the history and purpose of China’s space program. The update on the mission was originally broadcast on CCTV 4. It discusses the medical experiments beng conducted on the station and the condition of the Chinese astronauts.
The most critical part of the mission—a pilot-controlled docking of the Shenzhou 9 and Tiangong 1 spacecraft—was successfully completed just before 1:00pm BST. Below is an edited video of the docking captured from a Chinese television broadcast. It begins with the two spacecraft separating. The actual time gap between separation and docking was much longer than shown in this edited video.
